Privacy Policy for Swivel

Last Updated: October 24, 2026

Swivel (“Swivel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Swivel mobile application.

Swivel is a world-time and meeting-planning application designed to help users compare time zones, find convenient meeting times, and schedule meetings across different locations.

1. Information Swivel Handles

Swivel is designed to minimize the amount of personal information required to use the app. You do not need to create a Swivel account to use the core features of the application.

City and Time Zone Preferences

Swivel may store information such as:

  • Cities and time zones you add

  • The order of your clocks

  • City groups you create

  • App preferences and settings

This information is primarily stored locally on your device so that Swivel can remember your configuration between sessions.

Calendar Information

Swivel provides optional calendar functionality.

If you choose to add a meeting to Apple Calendar, Swivel requests the calendar permission necessary to create the event. Swivel uses this access only to perform the calendar action you request.

If you choose to use Google Calendar functionality, Swivel may ask you to sign in with your Google Account and authorize access to Google Calendar. Swivel uses this authorization to create calendar events that you request, including Google Meet links when applicable.

Swivel does not use Google Calendar information for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.

Swivel’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google Account Information

When you choose to connect Google Calendar, Google may provide information necessary to authenticate your account and authorize the requested calendar functionality.

Swivel does not sell Google user data or use Google user data for advertising. Google access is optional and is only required if you choose to use Swivel’s Google Calendar features.

2. How Information Is Used

Information handled by Swivel is used only as necessary to provide and improve features you choose to use, including:

  • Displaying world times

  • Remembering selected cities and city groups

  • Calculating meeting times across time zones

  • Creating calendar events at your request

  • Creating Google Meet links when requested

  • Managing Swivel Pro subscription access

  • Maintaining app functionality and reliability

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use calendar information or Google user data for targeted advertising.

3. Apple Calendar

Swivel may request permission to write events to Apple Calendar.

Calendar permission is controlled by iOS. You may revoke Swivel’s calendar access at any time through your device’s privacy settings.

Revoking calendar permission may prevent Swivel from adding new events to Apple Calendar but will not prevent you from using Swivel’s other features.

4. Google Calendar and Google Sign-In

Google Calendar integration is optional.

If you connect your Google Account, Swivel requests only the authorization necessary to provide the Google Calendar functionality offered within the app.

Swivel uses Google API data only to provide user-facing functionality that you explicitly request.

You may revoke Swivel’s access to your Google Account through your Google Account security and permissions settings.

Swivel does not sell, rent, or transfer Google user data to advertising platforms or data brokers.

5. Swivel Pro and Purchases

Swivel offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s App Store.

Purchases and subscription transactions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Swivel does not directly receive or store your payment card information.

Swivel may receive information from Apple necessary to determine whether you have an active Swivel Pro entitlement.

Subscription management, billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled through your Apple ID and App Store subscription settings.

6. Data Sharing

Swivel does not sell personal information.

Information may be transmitted to service providers only when necessary to provide functionality you explicitly request, including:

  • Apple, for App Store purchases and Apple Calendar functionality

  • Google, for Google Sign-In, Google Calendar, and Google Meet functionality

Those services operate according to their respective privacy policies and terms.

We may also disclose information where required by applicable law or a valid legal process.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

City selections, city groups, and similar Swivel preferences may be stored locally on your device.

You may remove cities and city groups from within Swivel. Deleting Swivel from your device may also remove locally stored Swivel data, subject to Apple’s operating system and backup behavior.

Calendar events created through Swivel are stored by the calendar service you selected, such as Apple Calendar or Google Calendar, and remain subject to that provider’s data retention practices.

If you revoke Google authorization, Swivel will no longer be able to use that authorization to access Google functionality.

If Swivel introduces server-side accounts or cloud storage in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such information is handled in a materially different way.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures designed to protect information handled through Swivel.

Access to external services such as Google Calendar is handled through their authorized authentication and API mechanisms. Swivel does not ask users to provide their Google password directly to Swivel.

However, no electronic system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Children’s Privacy

Swivel is a general-purpose productivity application and is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly design Swivel to collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Your Choices

You control whether to use Swivel’s optional integrations.

You may:

  • Use Swivel without connecting a Google Account

  • Decline or revoke Apple Calendar permission

  • Revoke Swivel’s Google Account authorization

  • Remove locally stored cities and city groups

  • Manage or cancel Swivel Pro through Apple’s subscription settings

  • Delete Swivel from your device

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Swivel evolves or as legal, regulatory, or platform requirements change.

When material changes are made, the updated policy will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.

If a change materially affects how Google user data is accessed or used, appropriate notice and consent will be provided as required.
